1. ok, i was going to write something else as the first one, but i was just talking to my intern and here's a little quirk i fessed up to - cats make me giggle like a little kid. sad to some people, i know, but LOLcats crack me up, i have the stuff on my cat rss feed, and yes, i make mister burns dance to amuse myself and the boy (but if you've ever seen him, you'd know that goofy look on his face was made to dance). i'm not quite "crazy cat lady" since i'll never have more than two cats, but they are precious babies, every single one of those little furry half-wild monsters.
2. i have to write everything down. now you can insert the old lady joke of your choice here now, but i've been doing this since my early 20's. especially if i'm going on a trip. twofold reason - (1) i can't remember anything. seriously, my short-term is terrible and i've forgotten lost of really good ideas and plenty of important things needed on trips (like extra underwear or pjs) (2) there is nothing in the world more satisfying than crossing something off the list, like getting that itch in the middle of your back by twisting around enough to get your fingers in the right spot. oooooh yeah.
3. this is a hardcore quirk of mine - being quiet in social situations. there's two reason behind this one as well - (1)i tend to think things out before i speak, so it must look i'm either dumb or very quiet to most people and (2)i can't and won't strike up idle chit-chat in a party/social situation. it's boring and i don't feel comfortable doing it...which is unfortunate b/c i'm going to have to start being more schmoozy and gregarious if i'm going to be doing the writing/publishing thing for starcherone books on a regular basis.
4. i have to have chocolate milk with a peanut butter and banana sandwich. no other beverage-sandwich combination comes close to tasting as good.
5. i laugh at EVERYTHING b/c the big joke is becoming more and more clear, so everything becomes that much funnier. it's not meant to be rude, but happy/sad/dangerous/peaceful/sacred/profane - it's all funny. blame the tricksters
6. i keep my fingernails way short b/c i don't like dirty nails and i hate the way nails sound against a keyboard [shudder]
