uuuuuuh, yeeeah

wow....haven't posted in some time. sorry about that folks. had a really good writing run at the end of the sabbatical, then work started this week and that's been getting busier each day...at least everyone gave me a day or two to ease into it.

the reason for my post today is that i just found out that Madeleine L’Engle died yesterday. her book "a wrinkle in time" was one of my top favorites growing up. it was challenging but written for kids and it had lots of real science in it - which was perfect for me because being the voracious geeky reader i was, kids' books were too babyish and adult books were kinda boring. it influenced the stories in my head, and looking back now, pushed me in the direction of being a writer. when i get a minute, i'd like to go back and read it again. it's a shame that YA books nowadays aren't written like that.

now that would be a good writing challenge.

So wait, all this Pavarotti bullshit and someone IMPORTANT died yesterday? Talk about bias in the media.
