I heard about a news story about the kid who lived in Walmart for three days. He reportedly was reading a book about the Beats the whole time. The book contained no actual beat poetry. It was mostly secondary source material. But when he was finally arrested he made comments about the influence of the beats on his acts, or at least references to counter-culture. These references were not on the television program perse, they were on the news anchors blog. I didn't watch the television program. I heard about it from a woman in a bar. She didn't watch the television show either. There was a baseball game on the television in the bar, but we weren't paying attention to it. I don't know who reads the television anchors blog. It just goes to show that just because you read something on a wiki doesn't mean you understand it. Although you might stand a better chance if you read it on the onion first.
