If Death is Kind

Perhaps if Death is kind, and there can be returning,
We will come back to earth some fragrant night,
And take these lanes to find the sea, and bending
Breathe the same honeysuckle, low and white.

We will come down at night to these resounding beaches
And the long gentle thunder of the sea,
Here for a single hour in the wide starlight
We shall be happy, for the dead are free.

Took me a few mins to put that all together when I first read it.

    Very sad indeed.

I know someone was taking it very hard last night.

omg. i love sara teasdale. have loved her since middle school when we read the short story "there will come soft rains" and it had an excerpt from her poem of the same title in it.

i spent months trying to a get a copy of her collected poems (got it for xmas a few years late).
