xmas dinner was a success (turkey, stuffing, gravy, roasted potatoes, maple roasted parsnips, brussel sprouts with pancetta and chestnuts, lemon green beans, mashed sweet potatoes; dessert of trifle, butternut squash pie, red velvet cake and assorted xmas cookies) although i was a half-hour late getting it to the table. i think i made one too many things. and i burned myself in four different places on my right arm....we're talking big splattered hot oil burns. that's what i get for wearing a short sleeved shirt when i'm cooking.
got lots of good prezzies - such as kitchen stuff, a couple of dvds (barton fink and finding forrester) and a mini wine cellar/fridge - and more importantly, everyone liked theirs.
i'm going to go through all my photos and post a few over at akaqueenie.com either today or tomorrow. the nephews were in rare form this weekend.
drive home from b-lo wasn't bad. since we did the drive home on new years eve, we celebrated midnight as we pulled up to the philly toll booths. definitely the most unusual way i've spent new years eve, but it was just the boy and i (how we like it) so it's all good ;-)
no mummers parade today because it's raining too much. which means it will be postponed until saturday. boo f'n hoo says i.
when the boy wakes up, i'm going to try again to convince him to get a nintendo wii. anyone know a store that has it out to try? toys-r-us and best buy don't. gamestop maybe?
