news from the mindfront

ok, so i don't really have any news, but i thought since i've been semi-neglectful of the blog this month that i'd post a little something.

haven't been listening to npr much, hence the absence of any political rants. i have been listening to john lennon and the beatles white album a bunch lately, so that's put me in a good headspace.

haven't written much lately, but i feel like something is brewing on the backburner, so i'll just be patient. any creative endeavor is like planting a crop....there's a time to plant seeds, there's a time to nurture the growing plants, there's a time to harvest and there's a time for the earth to lay fallow....i'm just in fallow mode now, although the seeds are getting planted and beginning to sprout.

the center has been keeping me busy, with meetings and holiday projects and such. and i have been spending an inordinate amount of time playing Jedi Knights II - Jedi Outcast with the teens. the computers are networked, so we play against one another. free-for-all is entertaining, but you'd have to be a fly on the wall for the capture-the-flag battles.....i find them entertaining and i'm in the middle of them. i can only imagine what people watching are thinking as we yell out strategies to one another in the middle of play. the worst part is that i normally curse like a drunken sailor when i play video games, so i have to say things like "why you little" and "you little so-and-so", although i did let a "shit" slip the other day. and another quarter from me goes into the teen's curse jar.

i'll post a little shoutout before the holiday. and i have to do it before the big CT-NYC weekend. remember kids, i may be using a vacation day from the center on friday, but that doesn't mean i won't be working.

current mood: chipper
current noise: "back in the ussr" by the beatles

Amazing what John Lennon can do for your mood isn't it?

Especially the White Album, odd considering they were tearing themselves apart while in the middle of making this album. But it is one of my favorites nonetheless.

The whole planting of seeds has me thinking of something I wrote today somewhere else...it made me smile when you wrote that.

Have fun morphing into gimmick girl extraordinaire for the weekend at the circus, and please have a wonderful holiday.

Here's hoping for snow in NYC ...

(after this weekend of course..anytime from the 26th-31st will be wonderful.not the 1st though... I have an early flight home on New Year's Day)

ahhh, yes the proverbial winer for planting those proverbial mental seeds to proberbially grow.

ugh... i think the cold slows down the creative processmuch in the same way it speed up the digestion process. or maybe theyre proportional.

finally, yeah. Red Team ALWAYS wins. CTF? more like "Let's Embarrass Blue Team"
