i know, i know....haven't posted in almost two weeks. but work has been wicked crazy - had to teach several multimedia classes, and last week was meetings galore plus the Youth Development Conference. the keynote speaker black ice was amazing and gave a great impromptu poem/spoken word. btw, i can't be a very good role model because i encouraged the teens to skip the afternoon sessions and take a walk with me through Chinatown (aka "a real life learning experience"). hopefully they had as much fun hanging out with me as i did with them.
this week should suck ass. the good part is the work week is only three days because the center is closed thursday and friday. but i have to make cookies and a (third) apple pie for turkey day, start the prezzie for the boys (it's a big sewing project, so i have to start it now or it will never get done), drive to boston, long island and new jersey during the four day weekend, and somehow get my usual home chores done. oh yeah, and get my CV together and find some recommendations for a new media professor job in nj. i'd have to say that all of this is not going to get done, even though it all is necessary. WHEEEEEEEEEEE!
about the elections, i'm sure you can guess how i feel about the results, so i don't need to go there. i just hope the democrats don't F* it up, like they seem to be very good at doing. and a special shout out to john kerry - please, for the love of whatever deity you believe in, don't run for president again. you're not going to win and i can't possibly live through another republican term. and neither can this country and world.
and i'd like to ask once again for all my dedicated readers to add something to the writing project. i want this to be collaborative. and i know several of you consider yourself writers and the rest can articulate yourselves very well in written form. so...yo, send somethin' in already!
and since i got the new phone, i'll be able to post on the blog and check emails while i'm on the road this weekend. yeah, i'm bragging about the phone (again), but i'm so satisfied with it that i can't help it.
current mood: awake (for once)
current noise: program on npr about the 28th annv of the jonestown massacre
