Unba//anced

what about my job?

i originally wanted to blog about several things i've been pondering lately. but as soon as i got in the door and before i could put my heavy bag down and take off my coat, people were asking me to do things for them that aren't part of my job.

now, it's one thing if we're on a friendly basis and you rarely ask me for anything. but it's the same people asking for their computers to be fixed or something new to be installed (which they don't understand that i'm not IT, i'm a teacher), or could i take a photo for an ID, could i help them make a flow chart and could they do it in my lab, could i scan a photo and make it bigger, could i print out dozens of photos (with my ink that my department pays for and they don't chip in for)....blah, blah, blah.

why don't people understand yet that i need time to get my work done (setting up curriculum, writing lesson plans, trying out new technologies, trying to find grants so we can get new equipment) and i need quiet to get it done. this room was a sanctuary and now it's Grand Central Station.

BLAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!

current mood: annoyed
current noise: everyone in the center coming in to ask me questions.
