the road

finished "the road" by cormac mccarthy. as some of you know, i'm a huge fan of his last novel "no country for old men," so of course i had to read this one as soon as the library got it in.

it's an apocalypse tale, which we follow a man and his son as they try to survive. but it's not some morality tale about how man has screwed up the planet. it's more about the relationship between the two of them. i'd summarize the book as being a kernel of the beauty of familial relationships surrounded by death and horror. i recommend it, but i wouldn't read it again and i would warn anyone that it's not really uplifting, but a really good read.

current mood: jonesin' for a library run
current noise: "invinsible" by ok go
