The rankings for safest and most dangerous cities in america came out and camden isn't first anymore. it was first for the past two years, but now it's dropped to fifth:
Most Dangerous Cities:
1)St. Louis, Missouri
2)Detroit, Michigan
3)Flint, Michigan
4)Compton, California
5)Camden, New Jersey
And in the safest category, my old stomping grounds, Amherst (for those of you who don't know, Amherst is a suburb of Buffalo and has a bigger population than the city itself - talk about urban flight) is second. and people wondered why i would keep my car doors unlocked all the time.
Safest Cities:
1)Brick Township, New Jersey
2)Amherst, New York
3)Mission Viejo, California
4)Newton, Massachusetts
5)Troy, Michigan

it makes me sad that michigan has two of the unsafest cities.
and it makes me roll my eyes that troy is one of the safest. and by safest i mean whitest.
hence amherst being #2...i.e. whitest.
