water rat

"in the Chinese horoscope, the five basic elements of Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth, which make up all matter, are combined with the twelve animal signs of Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Lamb, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig to form the sixty year cycle. One's Chinese horoscope is based on which lunar year in this sixty year cycle one was born."

so apparently, i'm a water rat (and i don't want to hear any wrestling jokes about that!). you can find out what you are here. mine is interestingly accurate.

but the reason i bring this up is that i was at another site with the forcast for the year of the dog (2006) - and that turned out to be very accurate so far. anyone else's pretty on target for the first half of this year?

current mood: curious
current song: "here and now" on npr

I'm a metal rooster (which, in other terms would be a metal cock, and you know that has to mean something...I mean, what can you do with a water cock?). Ahem. Anyway, I think it's pretty accurate. I've never been as arrogant as these imply, or as hard working, for that matter. Maybe I am.

Aside: It just occurred to me that when I read things that I'm supposed to identify with, I always think, 'well, that's me--how I used to be' because that's the me that I think I am. I don't feel like the person I've become, so I don't relate to her.

My year forecast though was pretty off track. I was even trying to see if I could fit things into the niches it described...not so much. :P
