ok so to clarify my post from yesterday, and as a time reference everything i list below has happened from monday night until wednesday at 1pm:

• we put a bid on a house (woo-hoo!)


• a guy breaks into our apartment building because one of the new douchebag tenants left the outer front door unlocked, ransacked the landlords' place on the first floor, kicked in our door (second floor), but the boy was home sleeping so he scared the guy and he ran


• the boy had to spend most of yesterday talking to the police, one of whom tried to tell us that heroin was a big problem in the neighborhood of the house we put a bid on, but yet another said it's ok over there.


• i received a call about an internet education/safety proposal i sent the city in conjunction with their Wireless Philly project - and i'm meeting with someone thursday to talk about it.


• one of the kids who comes to the community center i work at lives right next door to our possible new home - his father reassures me that the neighborhood is very stable, and everyone knows and looks out for one another


• today is our two year wedding anniversary, so i was woken up with the boy and mister burns coming into bed and having a nice long talk about how needy mister burns is with cuddling and spooning - yes, we have a cat who likes to be spooned. don't ask.


• we were supposed to try a new restaurant tonight (that how we celebrate our annv every year) but the boy thinks he might have pink eye, so we have to wait on the restaurant til next week

so, it's definitely a case of yin-yang happening all at once.

and happy birthday to my sis....she's the greatest sis a slacker like me could ever have, a fantastic mother, and a kick-ass woman. you'll be getting my present in the next few days :-)


edited to add: our offer was accepted on the house, i got to hire the person i wanted for the vacant computer teacher position, and things went so well with the proposal that my organization is going to partner up with WiFi Philly and i get to speak in front of city counsel next week.
