don't get me started on another snow rant. until the s**t starts falling and I can't see my hand in front of my face, then it's just snow and not a freakin' blizzard. and i'm guessing we'll be going to long island to put on the circus no matter what, so if i'm out there, then all the marks can be out there as well.
with all that's happening with the muslim cartoon controversy, the ridiculous budget that bush just released which increases spending on the war, cuts spending on medicare, medicaid, education and the environment; and people becoming more and more disconnected from each other in our own neighborhoods and across the globe even though we have an easier time getting the thoughts and ideas of others (via the internet and globally broadcasted radio/news)...i'm really disturbed by the hate and unwillingness to not just accept other's points of view, but just listen, discuss and even "agree to disagree". i wonder why there's this increasing feeling of isolation and hatred for anything that's different. why are people seemingly more closed-minded than ever? doesn't anyone realize that if we don't all try to get along and fix the really big issues that are going on (health care and education for everyone across the globe, and the whole planet slowly imploding with too many people and not enough resources), that we're all going to be annihilated, regardless of religion, god worshipped, country of birth, color or any other arbitrary distinction we use to determine "us" and "them"
uh yeah...anyone else want to rant about this as well? or am i the lone crazy person. ..the cheese stands alone.
current mood: restless and unmotivated (f*d up combination, eh?)
current song: "do the evolution" by pearl jam (the ONLY pearl jam song i'll listen to)

26.9 inches in Central park = BLIZZARD.... You jinxed NYC with that blizzard shmizzard stuff.....
if you want to get technical, a blizzard is really just blowing snow with sustained winds over 35 mph and visibility of less than a quarter mile (which sounds like that we drove home from the LI show in). all that snow is just a make-up for having no snow this winter. and new yorkers are tough...no record amount of snow is going to stop them, right? ;-)
I am sure that the fact that the 26.9 inches of snow was "technically not" a blizzard is very comforting to people like some 54 year old guys from queens I know who shoveled their houses and cars out 5 times before being plowed back in by the city dump trucks..Poor bastards....LOL
Queenie,
Snow, is, depressing. I hate it, grr...It seems like I'm thee only one who doesnt want this...white stuff everywhere, I mean its only going to turn into ice and be even more of a headache...grr...One of my friend's I was talking to on the phone yesterday was all like "I love snow, its so beautiful" I dont know if this sounds really awful but at that moment I wanted to just say "Look we're in Philly, when it snows in Philly it sucks" I mean all the little kiddies get off school so they can stand on the streets, not throwing snowballs at people but big freakin chunks of ice!!!! What kind of BS is that? this, is, an, inconvenince. Any way you look at it, it just sucks greatly.
okay i'm done going MAD about that...
