went back in time to see an old-fashioned wrestling show. sooo cool.

f' resolutions. either make a change in your life or don't...just don't use the new year as an excuse to take stock of your life.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
my sis with baby boy #3 (and that's all she's having)

4. Did anyone close to you die?
someone at the job...he and i weren't very close, but i enjoyed talking to him every day

5. What countries did you visit?
canada (but that really doesn't count cuz i've been there a million times before) and puerto rico (but that's not a separate country)

6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
my MFA

7. What dates from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
uh, each month in 2005 has felt like a year, so i've got too much and not enough to say about the past twelve years(months).

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
i really don't have any huge achievements this year, but i am glad i've been able to lose a little weight.

9. What was your biggest failure?
the fact that i didn't speak the truth when i should have.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
nope.

my new 14" iBook, because the other one died.

harrison and shawnnie, for being so cool about having a new little brother

most politicians; most people in the wrestling business.

14. Where did most of your money go?
see #11, plus saving money to buy a house.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

16. What song will always remind you of 2005?
"Let's Call It Love/Night Light" by Sleater-Kinney

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? i don't think i'm happier OR sadder than last year.
b) thinner or fatter? a little thinner
c) richer or poorer? richer, in spirit, because of a great group of gals i love to hang out with

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
yoga and exercise; hung out with said gals; improving the writing

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
complaining; letting petty s**t get to me

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
spending it with the fam in the b-lo

22. Did you fall in love in 2005?
i was already in love, but it amazes me how it changes and grows with every passing year.

HBO had a good year with Extras, Entourage, The Comback and the last season of Six Feet Under

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
no one new on the hit list, but there's a few people in "the business" that need to get their come-uppance

26. What was the best book you read?
"No Country for Old Men" by Cormac McCarthy. it's complete brilliance made me rethink how to tell a story via plotline and voice. (thanks Dan for recommending it!)

hmmm, something newly discovered? i guess Aqualung

28. What did you want and get?
better friendships with the gals; a better laptop

29. What did you want and not get?
my degree; a house

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I wanted to see Hitchhiker's Guide, but haven't yet. Just watched 40 year old Virgin last night and that was entertaining. otherwise, the movie industry sucks ass right now.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
my 33rd was spent at work, and then a very quiet night at home. PAR-TY!

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
i guess having enough money to get the house we wanted would have been nice.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?
same as last year...jeans and t-shirts at work...girlyness at the shows.

34. What kept you sane?
the gals, the kitties and wellbutrin.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
i think i'm starting to dig Paul Rudd (see Anchorman and 40-Year-Old Virgin); Kate Winslet is always top hottie in my book.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
just one issue? please...many republicans geting in legal trouble; the continued presence in iraq and not admitting lying about 9-11/iraq connection; the katrina disaster; not signing kyoto; intelligent design in schools; the gov't being ok with torture and the death penalty; the gov't trying to eliminate an "open gov't" - they keep documents and actions hidden; the gov't in denial about developing alternative energies and trying to open the Artic Refuge for oil drilling...and that's only stories from the summer til now.

37. Who did you miss?
there are a few people from my past who i wondered about.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
it was good to meet and better know people who were already in my life peripherally.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005:
just when you think you're invincible and invulnerable, you'll get knocked down. always be humble, respectful and realize how much further you have to go.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"Anger makes me a modern girl / Took my money / I couldn't buy nothin' / I'm sick of this / Brave new world / My whole life / looked like a picture / of a sunny day" [Modern Girl by Sleater-Kinney]

    Queenie,

Interesting ....*pauses* Its been a very, let's say interesting day for me. First of all you'll probably be a little upset or worried but I've deicided not to take the tests. My Therapist didnt even push it like I thought she would. The site members have been put up. I actually had a change of heart and put Tara in the mix. She hasnt read yet but I'm trying to prepare for when she will. I am trying to trust someone whole heartedly besides just you.
Queenie I wanted to tell you that this year you have achevied something big, it may not be to you but it is to me, you have began to really become an influence in my life, a roll model, and you know what you really have broken many trust barriers in me. I'm excited to see what the new year brings you. You deserve everything in life thats good and sweet. I truely appreciate your presence in my life and know that you will never be forgotten for the things you have done. I owe you, a million, someday.....
