[teeth chattering]

ohmygawd...my room at work is sooooo f'n cold today. i guess it's better for the computers to have the room cold rather than too warm, but when my fingers are so cold it takes me twice as long to type out a blog entry, that's just too cold.

i was just about to type that i don't have anything to say today, but in listening to NPR, i just heard that the House passed a provision opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for oil drilling, because they attached it to a major defense bill. That's just a truly disgusting tactic. Why don't legislators realize that ruin one of the few pristine piece of land left in the world is a bad idea. I say ship all the asswipes that voted for it up to Alaska to see how our gas-guzzling, global warming lifestyles have started to fuck up the ice packs and affected how the Inuit (you know, es-ki-mo) survive. how the warmer days and nights have fucked up migration and eating patterns in the species that life up there. it must be so easy to make decisions when you're holed up in DC with no visceral/tangeable way of seeing the consequences of your stupid, short-sighted actions. Everyone shuold live by the Native American motto of making decisions based on how it will affect the next seven generations. Our government can't see past their individual lifetimes (and most of them only have up to 30 years left).

i forgot to mention that friday was the company-wide xmas party hosted by my center. someone made deadly jello shots and there was plenty of free booze and food. silly me indulged in the alcohol, but not the food...unless you count jello shots as food. and in my typical fashion, i woke up without any ill effects. i seriously think i have some super-enzymes that kill alcohol, but then again i didn't drink as much as other people (and good job to you on avoiding any embarassing drunk behavior LOL)

so, this week, after class ends tonight, i'll be making macaroons and more chocolate truffles. i figure it's better to give people something you've made over something you've bought or a crummy card. if any of my loyal readers would like either one, hit me up with your name and mail addy in an email to rebecca at akaqueenie dot com and i'll see what i can do...although truffles need to be refrigerated, so i don't know if those will mail well.

current mood: [shivering]
current song: "if i only knew" by tom jones (and i admit that this one is cheezy, but oh-so catchy)
